The bombs, kept in plastic containers, were seized from an abandoned house, said a police officer. Birbhum had witnessed a turf battle between the ruling Trinamool Congress and opposition BJP since last year’s Lok Sabha polls with some pockets having CPI (M) influences.
At least 250 crude bombs were seized from West Bengal’s Birbhum district on Friday, police said. There was no arrest during the raid, which was carried following a tip off, the officer said. The police on March 14 had recovered more than 200 such bombs and a few “country-“ guns from a Belsore village in Burdwan district.
