Expressing Support to Make in India initiative, aircraft manufacturer Airbus today said it is ready to manufacture in India, as Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited its facility in Toulouse.PM Modi took the tour of the facility where planes are manufactured. He was given a briefing by officials on the functioning.
He described as “great” India’s decision to buy these fighters after talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Francois Hollande in Paris yesterday, saying it will go a long way in strengthening the IAF.”Indian Air Force will get minimum oxygen (relief) it requires with this deal. The students told the media that they were not part of the brain drain from India and would be willing to go back to their home country after finishing their studies. Many of them started chanting “Modi, Modi” as soon as the Indian prime minister arrived at the venue.
A French defense ministry source said the deal announced on Friday was separate from the original negotiations and came about after new Indian Defense Minister Manohar Parrikar indicated the country’s urgent requirements.
