Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said here on Saturday that the first phase of the core capital region would be completed by June 2018.
Since the bifurcation of the united Andhra Pradesh in June last year, Hyderabad has been serving as the joint capital for ten years for both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. “Cyberabad, an IT hub, had been the only source of income for Hyderabad and it was developed during my previous tenure as the Chief Minister. But with the division of the state, we lost Hyderabad. Now, we will develop a new capital, which would be hundred times better than Hyderabad,” Naidu said here while interacting with the students of an engineering college near Etcherla.
Thanking the farmers for parting their lands for construction of State capital under the Land Pooling Scheme, he said that he would be indebted for their sacrifice. You are a role model for generations and I will ensure that you will enjoy the first fruits of development’, he said. Chandrababu Naidu appealed to people to donate a day’s salary every month to build the new state capital. Speaking of the Telugu New Year’s Day celebrations, he appealed every person should contribute a brick at least as we are laying the foundation before June this year. He said that the new riverfront capital would be built with Central assistance on the lines of other metro cities in the South.
