Sai Dharam Tej Rey with 41 censor cuts. Sai Dharam Tej’s ‘Rey’ obtained an ‘A’ Certificate from the Censor Board. Members have suggested several cuts and the final run time of the movie is 168 minutes.
The details in the censor certificate have come as a shock to everyone and some of them has already come to a conclusion that Rey is going to be a complete ‘Masala’ film. Censor cuts and deleted scenes in fact reveal a lot about the film. Too many double meaning dialogues, repeated usage of the word sex and its related terms, filthy language have been sending some wrong notions to the audience about Rey.
The long pending Rey directed by YVS Chowdary is finally releasing this month with Shraddha Das and Sayyami Kher as leading ladies. Sources say that censor board has reportedly ordered 41 cuts and has accorded A on its certification, which restricts the audiences to adults alone. The movie has been facing many challenges on the production front as well as finances which had delayed its release. Rey was supposed to be the debut film of Sai Dharm Tej. With A certificate and so many cuts, this would also serve like a publicity for the film.
However, the film is coming out after facing its share of debacles, on 27 March. Only that day has the power to decide how this ‘Masala’ film will be received by the audience and mega fans.
Cost of production of ‘Rey’ is anywhere around Rs 20 crore. Even after so many delays, the director is not looking for a solo release. It is known that YVS Chas his career on tenterhooks and he is taking a huge risk with Rey with so many cuts.
